The Maven Dispatch

A summary of important news for the average American

Welcome to The Maven Dispatch, an attempt to simplify your news feed; or at least my news feed. While I’d love for this newsletter to be of help to anyone beyond myself, it is most realistically a self-serving endeavor to manage my own sanity. To distill the torrent of disparate news stories down to only those most pertinent to the daily experience of the average American.

Admittedly, I’m wholly unqualified to undertake this endeavor. I’m not a journalist, a writer, or formally educated on the mechanisms of government and finance. I do, however, live a life heavily effected by the decisions of these powerful actors. I’m a product of public education, a service worker, a medicaid reliant, a former public servant, and avid consumer of groceries. I’ve been on a journey to understand the larger mechanisms beyond my control; those that support me and those that oppress me. This is the next step in the process for me.

I hope this newsletter finds a form and function that helps not only me, but anyone taking the time to read it.
